I think that suspense and a good plot make a good story. Over the summer I read a book called The Guardian by Nicholas Sparks. This book made me want to keep reading because of all the different characters and setting in the story. The part that made me the most interested was when the main character found out that the guy she was dating was stalking her. After that part I was completely hooked, I couldn’t put the book down.
When I read a book and there is no suspense or depth to the book, I don’t want to read it anymore because there is nothing to it. If I am reading something and it doesn’t make me really think about or even get interesting in what it’s about than I find no point in continuing to read that.
I like when books make you think something will happen but then throws a curve ball and makes you think the opposite. One thing I can’t stand is if the book is really good but has an ending that makes you want the author to make a sequel to it.
